Kareena Kapoor Compares Sanjay Leela Bhansali With Raj Kapoor
Kareena Kapoor who has signed maverick director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next ‘Ram Leela‘ is very excited to be working with the director and compares him to her grandfather Raj Kapoor.
The Kapoor girl believes he is the successor of Raj Kapoor’s legacy. She says, “I wish my grandfather, Raj Kapoor, was alive. Though I have never worked with him, I am now working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali whose films take his legacy forward in a true sense. I’ve been looking to work with a filmmaker like Bhansali for a long time.”
In ‘Ram Leela’, Kareena has been paired up with Ranveer Singh. The film is said to be based on Williams Shakespeare’s famous play.
A source close to the film says, “The film is an Indian adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. It will be filmed mostly in Gujarat, and will have the kind of grandeur seen in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, which was also shot there.”
The film has another similarity with ‘HDDCS’ too as it will also have 11 songs. “There will be 11 songs, just like ‘HDDCS’ had,” added the source.
About teaming up with Kareena for the first time, Sanjay says, “Kareena and I have wanted to work together for a long time, since ‘HDDCS’. We are both happy and looking forward to begin shooting soon.”
Kareena is right now in Bangkok to shoot Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’ in which she is playing a role of Mahi Arora – an actress.
