Imran KhanActor Imran Khan who has been signed on as a lead actor of Tigmanshu Dhulia’s ‘Milan Talkies’, will play the role of a small-time filmmaker in the film.

The film will have a backdrop of a small town of Uttar Pradesh and Imran’s character will be of a local guy.

Interestingly, Imran’s last film ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’ also featured him in the rough and tough look of a north Indian boy.

However, in Tigmanshu’s film, his look will be quite different and would be rather usual. The director reveals, “He is not rugged, just carefree.”

Divulging more details about his film, Tigmanshu adds that his film will be centered around the topic of ongoing small-time filmmaking business in internal parts of India.

Referring to a small regional film called ‘Malegaon Ka Superhero’, Tigmanshu states that he has designed his film’s characters similarly that are shown in the regional film.

“The characters are almost set on the lines of those in ‘Malegaon Ka Superman’. They make films for video parlors or cable TV and make money,” asserts he.

‘Milan Talkies’ also stars Priyanka Chopra in the leading role; it’s the first time when Imran-Priyanka will be seen together on the big screen. The film produced by Ekta Kapoor is expected to go on floors by the month of October.
